Hetherington‘s Tamara Woods is proud to be speaking today at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Sydney.
The Department of Regional NSW – Division of Mining, Exploration and Geoscience has recently introduced changes to community consultation requirements. Rather than submitting community consultation reports annually, along with other title reporting requirements, holders must now make this information publicly available, in an effort to improve access to information and enhance transparency with the public. These changes present an opportunity for titleholders to review their community consultation practices and strategy, to ensure their compliance prior to the end of the transitional period.
Hetherington‘s Senior Consultant Nethmi Amarasekera is excited to return to the South Australian Exploration & Mining Conference in December 2022, this year presenting on ‘Tips for Navigating the regulatory changes in South Australia’. The South Australian Exploration & Mining Conference provides the opportunity for mineral explorers and miners to get technical updates, gain insights and collaborate with other professionals within the mining and exploration industry. We hope to see you there!
We hope everyone at the South Australian Exploration & Mining Conference enjoyed great coffee and Nethmi Amarasekera‘s practical guide to the ‘Top Tips for Navigating Regulatory Changes in SA’ – from critical Exploration Licence Renewal and Expenditure Policy changes to a first hand and practical look into the successful Division of an Exploration Licence.

It was a pleasure for Hetherington‘s Ben Muscat and Sarah Fox to attend the NSW Minerals Council End of Year Celebration in Sydney last week. It was great to hear from Stephen Galilee, Chief Executive and Director on all that NSW’s Mineral Council has achieved for the State’s mineral industry this year and reflect on this with its members as we also look ahead to what 2023 will hold.
