Sara Winton, Managing Consultant for Hetherington in Perth, attended the AMEC (Association of Mining and Exploration Companies) Boardroom Lunch today with special guest Matthew Tonts Chair of the EPA. It was a great chance to discuss regulation reform, the new direction of the EPA and issues faced by the industry in relation to approvals.
Thank you to AMEC (Association of Mining and Exploration Companies) and Gilbert + Tobin for hosting the lunch.
Congratulations to all the finalists of the AMEC (Association of Mining and Exploration Companies) Environmental Award 2021. Hetherington is proud to sponsor this award. It is important to recognise the companies that go above and beyond to manage the environmental impacts of mineral mining and exploration projects, and who work towards achieving better long term environmental outcomes.
Best of luck to Mineral Resources Limited, Fortescue Metals Group, and Mount Gibson Iron.

On the 1st December, Hetherington‘s Executive Managing Consultant Tamara Woods will be presenting at the Compliance Management in Exploration webinar, hosted by the Department of Regional NSW Resources Regulator to discuss community consultation for exploration.
This free online session will include a summary of the regulator’s findings from audits and other investigations, native title and exempted area implications, and will provide an opportunity to discuss good practice in compliance management in exploration.
On the 26th November, Hetherington‘s Tamara Woods and Nethmi Amarasekera will be attending the 2021 South Australian Exploration and Mining Conference, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
We are also very excited to be the coffee sponsor at this year’s event, and we look forward to seeing the exploration and mining industries coming together.
Last Friday, Hetherington‘s Tamara Woods and Nethmi Amarasekera attended the 2021 South Australian Exploration and Mining Conference (SAEMC) in Adelaide. We had our Hetherington fur friends join us in the Sydney office today!
All were good boys/gals and will hopefully make another appearance in 2022.
Thanks to David Salim for the great idea!!
