We have a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination and bullying in any form, with recruitment, management and career development procedures designed to reward merit and achievement and eliminate unconscious bias. We never discriminate in the selection of clients or suppliers, partnering with the broadest range of companies, and actively selecting suppliers who are members of minority groups.

As a 50% female owned company and with a team that has grown organically to include 75% female consultant and lawyers, Hetherington is a long-term supporter of gender equality and works closely with the Women in Mining Network (WIMnet) as Mentor, Mentee, Sponsor and Committee Member and WA’s Women in Mining Network (WIMWA). We also provide employee assistance to those returning to work from parental leave, offering flexibility and support in the areas deemed most valuable by these individuals.
We celebrate important dates in the diversity calendar and provide special leave for cultural and religious holidays, beyond those traditionally considered part of Australia’s corporate timetable. We also provide a range of study leave options for those furthering their education.
At Hetherington, we run team building exercises, social events, physical challenges, and mental health support programs, encouraging social connection and regular physical movement to promote the health and well-being of our teams.
We also do our best to protect the planet by minimising our environmental footprint, running a paperless office since 2014, participating in a range of recycling initiatives and encouraging the use of cleaner, greener public transport.
